My face is very smooth after shaving with this razor my face and neck don't hurt. The secret to a totally smooth shave with these Norelco 1290X/46 Sensotouch razors is a little soap and water on your face. The razor cuts smooth without any but it cuts smoother still with a little soap. I use liquid ivory hand soap mixed with a little water. Very nice and refreshing.

This Philips Norelco 1290X/46 Sensotouch 3D Electric Razor product has changed shaving for me. I have used several electric and straight blade configurations and brands. This razor makes shaving quick and after the adjustment period it was also painless. This combined with C.O. Bigelow shave foam leave's me with an amazing feeling face thats nice and smooth.

• stand is very wobbly on a rough surface because of its suction cup feet
• cannot be used with a cord when not charged, need to wait 3 to 5 minutes to charge for one shave
• the 3 rotary heads need to opened separately for cleaning after every shave (per manual and indicator)
• need to make sure you do not leave the shaver charging for more than 60 minutes (per manual)
•  needs to be in stand to charge and it needs to be unplugged when done

The 1290X's water resistance means I clean it with the brush and then rinse it under water - no separate dodgy cleaning machine and no expensive fluid. I use the 1290X with Art of Shaving pre-shave and do not feel a need to use a gel or shaving cream.
