I have had Philips Norelco razors for a long time. I especially like the new Norelco 1160X/47 cleaning system. It automatically lowers the razor into the cleaning fluid, starts and stops the razor in a washing action, then raises the razor for a drying cycle. Without any exaggeration I can state that the Philips Norelco 1160X/47 gives at least as close a shave as any razor that I've ever used and a far superior shave to any other electric shaver that I've ever used. I've only had the 1160X/47 for 72 hours, but I've found that I needed no learning period for getting a remarkably close shave. If the shave quality drops off over time, I will post that information as well.

I was able to find this Norelco 1160X/47 SensoTouch 2D Electric Razor at Kohls without the cleaning system. I use the razor as a dry razor. It's able to deliver a close shave. I've used electric razors in the past and not had the best experience with them. I could never get a very close shave.

The Norelco 1160X/47 SensoTouch shaver is well-built and tough. It is light in weight, fits in the palm of my hand very nicely and I can maneuver it smoothly and easily. It is able to clear all hairs on my face, and about 80% of the hairs on my neck. So it handles well on curves thanks to the flexible head.

I've had much better success with this razor. It doesn't get shave as close as my old Mach 3 of course, but is very quick and convenient and shaves as close as you can expect an electric razor to shave. I have a fairly sensitive face and this razor does not irritate my face much at all, even shaving dry. The Jen Clean system is nice and usefull to clean the razor every now and then, but removing the blades and rinsing the razor off with water is very simple with this razor.
